David Guaqueta

Hello my name is David Guaqueta and I am a Tourism major. When I graduate I would like to get a job at a resort, cruise liner, or casino in management. I am currently working at a restaurant as a cook and occasional kitchen manager. Being an hourly manager has really helped me understand how to manage people in the work place. I have been working in the restaurant business for a decade and can't wait to graduate to start my career. I am ready to move up in management and i believe that having a degree will help me to be more successful within my field.
I have one brother, two sisters and family all over the world. My parents are from two separate worlds;my mother grew up here in the United States and my father in Colombia, South America. As a kid and into adulthood I have traveled between the two countries and it has really made me love discovering new places and cultures. I have lived in Aruba (in the Carribbean), backpacked through Europe and traveled Central America and South America. I grew up loving to travel and meeting new people and that is why I chose to go into the major of Tourism.
I hope from taking this course I will gain a much more professional writing style. Each year I have been in college it has really helped. I am currently a Junior in college and will graduate in December, 2012. During the next year and a half, I plan to work hard on my studies and hopefully even this class will help me accomplish my goals. I can not wait to graduate and finally pursue the career of my dreams.
